A warm welcome!
I started my time at St Mary's in April 2003. Prior to this I was the Headmistress at Marlborough Community School in Kensington and Chelsea. I worked there for 5½ years and feel justifiably proud that when I came to leave, the school had just been recognised as one of the 100 most improved schools in the country.
I chose to move to St Mary's because I wished to be back in the Catholic sector and also because I had heard wonderful things about the school. I knew from the moment I walked through the door and saw the faces of the children and staff, the fantastic facilities and experienced the warmth and caring that is so much a part of the school, that I wanted to be part of such a special place.
I was born in New Zealand and have been in England for 15 years. I have been teaching for 23 years. I love the challenge of teaching and learning and feel privileged to be part of your child’s development. I believe that children learn best when they are happy and secure and also when they are appropriately challenged in a supportive environment. We aim to provide such an environment at St Mary's. I hope that every child who leaves St Mary's leaves us with confidence and high self-esteem having reached their full potential and having developed a love for learning and a thirst for knowledge.
If your child is joining us for the first time we welcome you as new parents and hope that it will be the beginning of a happy and fulfilling period for your family*. If you would like to find out more about St Mary's School, please feel free to contact us and request a prospectus. Better still why not come along and pay us a visit. We are always happy to meet with prospective parents and have much to share with you.
If you already have a child at St Mary's, we are pleased to renew the very positive links which exist between us.
I look forward to meeting you!
