Celebrating Queen Elizabeth II and King Charles III

The St Mary’s community were deeply saddened by the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and offer our heartfelt condolences to the Royal Family.

As well as learning more about the Queen’s remarkable legacy and her selfless life of service, we asked our pupils to write prayers to celebrate the late Queen and King Charles III. The ones below from Year 2 were shared in Chapel today.

We pray for Queen Elizabeth II who sadly died aged 96 last week. Thank you for sending her to be a brave, wise leader who lived the Christian message in all she did, in her amazing 70 years as our Queen. We pray that she finds peace with you in Heaven, now with her father King George and her husband Prince Phillip. Please help to give our country strength and courage as we face the changes ahead. Lord hear us.

We pray for King Charles III as he takes on his new role as our King after the passing of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II. We pray that he is thankful for his new role and that he is a kind, generous and loving leader as his mother was. Also, we pray that his life is long and great and that he is always healthy. We thank you that we can join together to celebrate his mother’s life. Lord hear us.
