Following an exciting launch earlier in October, St Mary’s School, Hampstead is proud to have partnered with St John’s Hospice (in St John’s Wood) as its new charity of the year. The School community votes annually for a new charity to support, raising much-needed funds and awareness for vital work and causes around the world. Previous charities in recent years have included Solidarios Sin Fronteras, Water Aid and War Child. Charlotte Owen, Headmistress, says, ‘St Mary’s very much looks forward to learning more about St John’s and fundraising for them across the academic year. We have many exciting events planned to raise awareness for the inspirational work at St John’s, including our upcoming annual Christmas Fair and a community event next Summer.’
St John’s Hospice says: ‘We are thrilled that St Mary’s School, Hampstead has chosen St John’s as their charity of the year! Together, we look forward to raising awareness about the essential care our hospice provides and raising vital funds with the support of the pupils and the broader community. We aim to celebrate and amplify life, enabling people to live well for as long as possible. The School’s commitment to service and community engagement aligns perfectly with our goals and we look forward to working together to make a positive impact. We can’t wait to hear about the fantastic events planned and hope to welcome both pupils and teachers to visit our hospice soon.’
A Prep School for Girls aged 2-11 years, St Mary’s has recently been listed in the Top 5 UK Prep Schools in the Catholic Good Schools Guide and was ‘Highly Commended’ for Outstanding School Sport at the ISA Awards 2024.
