St Mary’s is committed to supporting pupils from the wider community who for financial reasons may not consider or have access to participation in independent preparatory school education through bursaries.
Bursaries may be awarded to provide assistance towards the fees of children who would not otherwise be able to enter the school as well as families of existing pupils whose financial situation has changed and who are no longer able to afford the full fees.
An application for a bursary is fully means tested and subject to specific financial disclosures with appropriate checks. This is a confidential process.
The level of support varies according to parental need. Support normally relates to just the tuition fees but can also cover the cost of lunches, and can be of any level, from support with managing the additional cost of VAT on school fees, all the way to 95% fee remission in cases of proven need. In very exceptional circumstances, additional discounts (in excess of 95% of fees) may be granted.
All awards and support are determined at the absolute discretion of the Governors, upon the advice of the Headmistress. Further information is available on request from Mr Tom Wood, Head of Marketing & Admissions.
