Sport is an essential and fun part of the day at St Mary’s School. The P.E. Department are passionate about inspiring children to fall in love with sport. So, we provide a wide range of options to ensure they find their special talent.
Our programme for sport is inclusive and every pupil from Nursery to Year 6 will participate in at least two P.E. lessons a week. This is supported by a plethora of sports clubs before and after school.
We benefit from a well-equipped hall on-site for gymnastics and the spacious outside play area has been enhanced. Climbing equipment is available and the upgraded full-size netball court allows football, rugby, cricket and tennis lessons to be enjoyed alongside netball, dodgeball and rounders.
The School also uses excellent local facilities such as Hampstead Heath for athletics and Swiss Cottage Leisure Centre for swimming and rock climbing.
Children show great enthusiasm and an appropriate competitive spirit for individual and team events. Pupils also enjoy participating in many sport fixtures and tournaments against local schools. The School achieves considerable success across the board.
