The latest lockdown hasn’t stopped Mrs Connor-Earl taking on a new fundraising challenge! On 26th March, she will be sleeping out to raise as much money as possible for the Cardinal Hume Centre.
“When I completed the last Sleep Out, it was on my way home to a warm shower and cosy bed that the true reality and hardships of being homeless hit me. As I drove past people sleeping rough, I realised that what was a one-off for me on a freezing cold November night was an everyday occurrence for others. The Cardinal Hume Centre transforms people’s lives and I am delighted to support their incredible and tireless work.”
Mrs Connor-Earl has signed up to raise money for the Cardinal Hume Centre, a charity committed to tackling poverty and preventing homelessness. They provide a safe environment and round-the-clock support to help homeless young people and disadvantaged families. The Centre also enables people to develop the skills and confidence they need to realise their full potential.
- £12 can pay for a young person to travel to college for a week
- £25 can pay for a kitchen ‘starter pack’ so a young homeless person can learn to cook
- £50 can pay for bedding and towels for when they move into their new room
On Wednesday 26th March, Mrs Connor-Earl will be grabbing her sleeping bag, braving the cold and directly helping the Centre’s vital work. She previously took on this challenge in November 2018 and found the experience extremely difficult. But, the incredible charitable endeavours, risk taking, resilience demonstrated by the girls over the last year have inspired her to take part again.
