Safeguarding is a shared responsibility, and we are committed to ensuring that all members of our community understand their role in keeping pupils safe from harm. Our staff receive regular, comprehensive training in safeguarding and child protection so that any concerns can be recognised and addressed promptly and appropriately.
The safeguarding structure at St Mary’s is led by our Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), who oversees all aspects of safeguarding and child protection. Oversight is provided by a Safeguarding Governor who ensures that safeguarding remains a key focus of the school’s governance and strategic planning.
Our approach is underpinned by robust policies and procedures designed to uphold the highest standards of care and protection. These include clear guidance on safer recruitment, staff training, online safety, and working effectively with external agencies.
