Sport is an essential and fun part of the day at St Mary’s School. The PE Department are passionate about inspiring girls to fall in love with sport. So, we provide a wide range of options to ensure they find their special talent.
We are a school of sporting excellence. With a spacious gymnastics and PE hall, climbing wall, and full-size netball court, girls can take part in a plethora of sports and fitness clubs.
St. Mary’s was delighted to be the recipient of the ‘Highly Commended’ award for outstanding school sport, at the 2024 ISA Awards.
Netball, football, cricket, tennis and gymnastics feature day-to-day, with clubs ranging from fencing to dodgeball, tag rugby to golf. Our Sports Captains also support with lessons for EYFS and Lower School.
The School also uses excellent local facilities, such as Hampstead Heath for athletics and Swiss Cottage Leisure Centre for swimming.
Children show great enthusiasm and an appropriate competitive spirit for individual and team events. Pupils also enjoy participating in many sport fixtures and tournaments against local schools. The School achieves considerable success across the board.
