Michaela attended Bucknell University, a private liberal arts college in the United States, and graduated in 2004 with a BSBA in Business Management and a BA in English Literature. Following graduation she moved to New York and worked in advertising in account management for Grey Global Group and McCann Erickson. In 2006, Michaela and her now husband, Erick, moved to San Francisco and she transitioned into the Financial Services industry. She joined Bloomberg LP’s newly established San Francisco office and managed the West Coast Analytics and Client Support department for four years. In 2010 the family returned to the East Coast and Michaela became an executive search consultant in the Asset and Wealth Management practice at Russell Reynolds Associates, and later the Prince Houston Group.
They moved to London in 2017 and Michaela stepped back from the professional world to focus on their family’s transition to the UK. Her eldest daughter joined Pre-Nursery at St Mary’s in 2017 and, after finishing Year 6 eight years later, she now attends South Hampstead High School. She has two younger sons, one of which attended the Nursery at St Mary’s before leaving for a boys’ school. The family lives in Hampstead and obtained their British citizenship in 2024, and consider London ‘home’.
During the eight years her daughter attended St Mary’s, Michaela served as a Class Representative, as well as Secretary and later Chair of the Parent Teacher Association, which is now referred to as the Friends of STMH. During this time she worked closely with the Senior Management and Senior Leadership Teams and gained valuable insights into the school. Additionally, she is the Secretary for the Mark L Serventi Family Foundation and a Managing Member of a US-based family limited partnership.
